Bio
Desiree D. Young has over 20 years of experience in higher education in both credit and non-credit learning environments. She worked with a private college as the Director of Education for 7 years. Desiree managed and developed associates and bachelor level degree programs. For the past 14 years, Desiree was the Executive Director of Programs and Enrollment Management at University of Miami. She created, implemented, and managed professional certificate programs and corporate/customized training. Her department developed a comprehensive learning ecosystem for the continuing education landscape for the local, national, and international communities. She was responsible for 50 plus programs that cover a wide array of industries, which included technology (cybersecurity, coding, data analytics, digital marketing), project management, business, professional coaching, law, healthcare, design, sustainability, and finance.
Desiree provided a platform that revolutionized learning and created career pathways for transition, elevation, and education for what’s next. Her objective was to develop competitive demanding programs that fill the needs of employers and close the skills gap by engaging in continuous research and evaluation of marketing trends. Desiree was also the Executive Director for UOnline which comprised of online graduate certificates, masters, and doctoral programs for the University. Programs include Applied Learning Sciences, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Public Administration, Sports Administration, and Music.
Desiree, who is originally from Belize, holds an Associate Degree of Business Administration, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, a Master of Public Administration specializing in Policy and Human Resource Management, and currently pursuing a doctorate in Organizational Leadership.
