Years of Experience: 3 to 4 years
Educational Qualification: B.Sc., BCA, BCS, B.E., B.Tech, M.Tech, MCA and M.Sc or a technology-related field or relevant experience.
About the Role:
As a Software Developer, you will play a pivotal role in the Implementation and Enhancement Projects. You will leverage your expertise in open source technologies and a range of technical competencies to design, develop, and deliver innovative software solutions.
This role requires a strong understanding of software development methodologies, a keen eye for code quality, and the ability to mentor and collaborate with team members effectively. Production Technology team at Springer Nature, Pune is responsible for delivering solutions related to Journals and Books Publishing and Production Systems for Scientific, Technical, and Medical Publishers (STM Publishers) & Education Publishers around the world. Our teams incorporate the latest technologies built upon OpenText Documentum/xCP frameworks to streamline and automate production workflows, and maintain metadata for Springer Nature; this helps us to continuously improve business response time and revenue stream. Every project is implemented in a distributed agile environment while continuously collaborating with customers stationed at various locations around the world.
Role Responsibilities:
• As part of this role, you will;
• Utilize your strong hands-on skills on the Open-source platform to develop, test, and deploy high-quality software solutions.
• Work in an Agile environment, participating in daily project stand-ups,
resolving impediments, and actively contributing to project implementation.
• Collaborate closely with team members to discuss implementation
strategies, technical challenges, and innovative solutions.
• Embrace a culture of open communication and innovation, where your input
is valued, and support is readily available.
What you will be doing:
Within 3 months you will:
• Onboarding and familiarization with Publishing domain and organization’s
culture
• Dive into the existing implementations and work closely with the team to
understand landscape
• Learn about best practices and development standards
By 3-6 months you will:
• Begin taking on more significant development tasks and user stories
• Work independently on certain project components
• Deepen your technical knowledge for efficient development and continuously
share these insights
By 6-12 months you will:
• Take lead on development initiatives
• Demonstrate ability to design and implement complex solutions
• Actively identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization
• Leverage your experience to provide valuable contributions to the domain
Throughout your first year in the Software Developer role, you will continue to
play an integral part in our projects, progressively taking on more responsibility and
contributing to the growth and success of the team and organization.
About You:
• 3 to 4 years of overall software coding experience in below skills
Core JAVA - OOPS concept, Exception handling, Multithreading and concurrency, Streams and lambda expressions (Java 8+ features)
Spring Framework - Spring Boot: Understanding its architecture, annotations, and auto-configuration.
Spring MVC: For handling web requests and building RESTful APIs. Spring Data JPA: For database interaction and ORM using Hibernate. Spring Security: For securing microservices.
Relational Databases: MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.
RESTful APIs
Designing REST APIs (HTTP methods, status codes, URI design)
JSON serialization/deserialization (Jackson, Gson)
API documentation tools (Swagger/OpenAPI)
5. Testing Frameworks
JUnit: Unit testing.
Mockito: Mocking dependencies.
Spring Boot Test: For integration testing
6. Messaging and Asynchronous Communication
Messaging queues (e.g., RabbitMQ, Apache Kafka)
Understanding of event-driven architecture.
7. DevOps Skills
CI/CD Tools: Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, etc.
Monitoring and Logging: ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana), Prometheus, Grafana.
Version Control: Git (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket).
8. Understanding microservices architecture principles.
9. Familiarity with cloud environments, particularly GCP.
10. Understanding of working methodologies, including Agile and SCRUM.
11. Good communication and proactive attitude.
12. Aspiration to take a lead on any development related work and deliver with quality.
Having a good command of English is important; collaboration is important in our day to day work, so being able to communicate your ideas and understand others is key
